A state-of-the art office building located in Lincoln's east downtown area, Assurity Center incorporates world class design, environmental sensitivity, modern technologies and expansive views of Union Plaza Park and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.

Purposefully located in an urban renewal area, Assurity Center anchors Lincoln's Antelope Valley redevelopment area, one of the most significant public projects in our city's history.

Assurity Center creates the ideal balance of timeless architecture and sustainable design concepts with a highly functional, healthful and productive work environment. High, floor-to-ceiling windows and the open floor plan create a dramatic use of light and space, enhanced by inspiring design and vibrant color schemes.

The two-story base is clad in rough-cut limestone, providing a solid visual and structural foundation, while the three-story tower consists of polished limestone and glass.

Terraces, balconies and the curving lines of external features, such as green "living" roofs, provide a natural flow into the contoured landscapes of Union Plaza Park. On the building's east side, balconies and the patio take advantage of the setting, opening onto the park's scenic overlook, Antelope Creek, and biking and walking trails (top right). To the west, the separate six-level parking garage features an art wall facing the Antelope Valley Parkway.

•  Location: 2000 Q Street. Vehicle access via Q Street from the south and Antelope Valley Parkway from the west.

•  Ground was broken for Assurity Center on Sept. 15, 2009. The facility was completed and ready for occupancy on Dec. 1, 2011 (second from top).

•  The 175,000-square-foot structure consists of five stories plus a lower level.

•  The Physician Network occupies tenant office space on the fifth floor.

•  The 9.5-acre campus site is bounded by Union Plaza Park on the east and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on the north.

•  The new facility consolidates Assurity's operations from three previous locations into one building.

•  Abundant onsite parking for Assurity associates and tenants is provided in the separate 600-space parking garage (third from top). Visitor surface parking spaces are available adjacent to the building entrance. Special stalls are designated for low- and very low-emission vehicles in the garage. Bicycle parking spaces are available as well.

•  The cafeteria provides lunchtime seating for 160, as well as auditorium-style seating for 250.

•  The main lobby desk (bottom) is staffed 24 hours per day to greet and view all persons entering the lobby.
